UPDATED HELENE ASSISTANCE INFO 10/15

Such good news! Water service (non-drinkable) is slowly being restored and has reached downtown. The goal is to have running water in all parts of Asheville soon, but that depends on many factors going according to plan, from the weather to the condition of the underground pipes.

If you have running water, please remember that it is not yet safe to drink, but it can be used for flushing toilets, taking showers, washing clothes, washing dishes, etc. For drinking water, you can boil the running water vigorously for at least a minute or you can continue to use any of the water distribution sites listed in the resource guide.

I’ve heard feedback from some about difficulty with downloading the daily resource guide. At over 50 pages, the resource guide is too long to include as text only in an email, so to fix the issue we have created links that should make it possible for you to see the guide within the browser.
